Return & Refund Policy

1. Overview

At Isabelle Gougenheim Designs, we take pride in the quality of our products and want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Return & Refund Policy describes your rights and our procedures for returns, exchanges, and refunds. This policy is designed to comply with applicable U.S. federal and state consumer protection laws, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations governing refund and return policies.
By completing a purchase with us, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this policy.

2. Return Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, items must meet ALL of the following conditions:

  • The return request is submitted within 30 days of the delivery date as confirmed by the shipping carrier.
  • The item is unused, unworn, unwashed, and in its original, unaltered condition.
  • The item is returned in its original packaging with all tags, labels, and accessories intact.
  • A valid proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt) is provided.
  • The item was purchased directly from Isabelle Gougenheim Designs (purchases made through third-party retailers are subject to those retailers' return policies).

3. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return or refund unless they arrive damaged or defective:

  • Items marked as “Final Sale” or “All Sales Final” at the time of purchase.
  • Custom, personalized, or made-to-order items.
  • Items that have been used, worn, washed, altered, or damaged by the customer.
  • Gift cards.
  • Items returned without prior authorization or outside the 30-day return window.

4. How to Initiate a Return

To start the return process, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Contact us at info@isabellegougenheimdesigns.com within 30 days of your delivery date. Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return.
Step 2: Our team will review your request and, if approved, send you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number along with return shipping instructions within 3 business days.
Step 3: Package the item(s) securely, include your RMA number on the outside of the package, and ship the item(s) back using a trackable shipping method.
Step 4: Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
Please note: Returns sent without a valid RMA number may be refused or subject to a delay in processing.

5. Return Shipping Costs

Defective or Incorrect Items: If you received an item that is defective, damaged, or incorrect, Isabelle Gougenheim Designs will cover all return shipping costs and provide a prepaid shipping label.

All Other Returns: For all other returns (change of mind, wrong size ordered, etc.), the buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs. We recommend using a trackable shipping service. Isabelle Gougenheim Designs is not responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipment.

6. Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email notification of the approval or rejection of your refund.

Approved Refunds: If approved, your refund will be processed and applied to your original payment method within 5–7 business days. Please allow additional time for your bank or credit card company to post the credit.

Partial Refunds: We reserve the right to issue a partial refund for items returned in a condition that is not original (e.g., minor wear, missing packaging).

Rejected Returns: If the return is rejected (e.g., item is not in original condition, return window has passed), we will notify you and return the item(s) to you at your expense.

Shipping Costs: Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (e.g., wrong or defective item sent).

7. Exchanges

We replace items if they are defective, damaged, or if you received the wrong item. If you need an exchange for the same or a different item, please contact us at info@isabellegougenheimdesigns.com with your order number and the details of the exchange you would like. Exchanges are subject to product availability. If the desired exchange item is not available, we will issue a refund per Section 6 of this policy.

8. Damaged or Defective Items

If your item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us at info@isabellegougenheimdesigns.com within 7 days of delivery. Include your order number, a description of the damage or defect, and clear photographs of the item and its packaging. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly through a replacement, repair, or full refund, at our discretion and at no cost to you.

9. Late or Missing Refunds

If you have not received your refund within the expected timeframe, please take the following steps:

  • Check your bank account or credit card statement again.
  • Contact your bank or credit card company, as processing times can vary.

10. Sale and Promotional Items

Regular-priced items may be returned in accordance with this policy. Items purchased during a sale or promotional event may be returned unless otherwise specifically marked as “Final Sale” at the time of purchase. Only regular-priced items may be refunded at full value; sale items may be refunded at the sale price paid.

11. Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you may receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received and approved, a gift certificate will be sent to you. If the item was not marked as a gift, or if the gift giver had the order sent to themselves to give to you later, refunds will be issued to the original purchaser. 12. Chargebacks and Disputes

We encourage customers to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with their payment provider. We are committed to resolving any issues promptly and fairly. If you believe there has been an unauthorized charge or an error with your order, please reach out to us at info@isabellegougenheimdesigns.com so we can work with you to resolve the matter.

13. Compliance with U.S. and Illinois Consumer Protection Laws

Isabelle Gougenheim Designs is headquartered in the State of Illinois. This policy is intended to comply with applicable U.S. federal and Illinois state consumer protection laws, including but not limited to:

  • Federal Trade Commission (FTC) “Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise” Rule (16 CFR Part 435).
  • FTC regulations requiring merchants to clearly disclose return policies.
    Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505/1 et seq.), which prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of trade or commerce.
  • Illinois Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act (815 ILCS 510/1 et seq.).

Governing Law: This policy and any disputes arising from it shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action arising from this policy shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.

Customers in other states may have additional rights under their applicable state laws. Nothing in this policy is intended to limit any rights you may have under applicable law.

Isabelle Gougenheim Designs reserves the right to modify this Return & Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. The effective date at the top of this policy will reflect when it was last updated. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
